This week, we held our 3rd class meeting focused on the four anti-bullying rules. Our discussion focused on Rule #2-We will try to help students who are bullied. We shared our ideas about how we could help someone we felt was being bullied or left out of a group. The discussion emphasized the importance of doing something rather than just being a silent bystander. The message is that each of us can make a difference in a situation by being kind and sticking out our necks for a friend. We read the book, Big Al, and talked about how people sometimes leave someone out because they act or appear different and how the a person must always be judged on his/her actions. Please let me know if you would like to borrow this book to share with your family. This week, we will discuss Rule #3 We will try to include students who are left out."
